Abstract

Problem setting. In a social and market system of income formation being inherent to developed countries intellectual capital of a firm transforms into the main source of competitive preferences and has considerably influenced the income allocation. In Ukraine there are other factors of the competition being frequently non-market. Because of this, the competitiveness of production increases slowly, and incomes of population are one of the lowest in Europe.
Recent research and publications analysis. A sense and a structure of the intellectual capital of a firm were considered in working papers of J. K. Galbraith, A. Toffler, B. B. Leontiev, T. A. Stewart, A. Brooking, L. Edvinsson, M. Mellown, A. N. Kozyrev, S. M. Klimov, A. H. Zharinova, V. L. Inozemtsev, Z. V. Ulianytskyi etc. A sense and the contest of the competitive preferences of a firm are characterized in working papers of
M. Porter, R. A. Fakhutdinov, I. Z. Dolzhanskyi, J.-J. Lambin, O. Yu. Ivanova, L. V. Balabanova, P. H. Klivets, A. M. Nikolaieva, T. V. Kharchuk etc. Notwithstanding the validity and the comprehensiveness of available researches, a matter of the improvement of a structure of the competitive preferences in Ukraine on the basis of the radical increase of a role of the intellectual capital has been not examined.
Paper objective. An aim of the article is to examine measures, which are needed to transform the intellectual capital of a firm into the main source of competitive preferences in the Ukrainian system of income formation.
Paper main body. A fundamental structure of competitive preferences encompasses all potential sources of the competitiveness and is characterized by the sustainable content. A topical structure of competitive preferences consists of elements of the fundamental structure. A certain correspondence of elements of the fundamental structures is inherent to a topical structure. It indicates which competitive preferences are topical (influential) and which are not. The development of the topical structure of competitive preferences in Ukraine generally indicates the historical evolution of this structure in developed countries of the world,
but it occurs more concisely with time. There is a need to additionally boost these processes, however it is not expedient to “jump over a few steps” in order to promptly transform the intellectual capital of firms into the main source of competitive preferences in Ukraine. First of all, social and economic conditions of the competition should be changed. Consequently, firms will actively increase the intellectual capital in beneficial terms without a directive influence of the state.
Conclusions of the research. The formation of a competitive environment, where non-market methods of the competition do not exist, may be a primary task. As a result, preferences of entrepreneur capabilities will place the first place within the topical structure of competitive preferences. At the second stage an activity in the field of intellectual ownership should be intensified. The final transformation of the intellectual capital of a firm into the main source of competitive preferences in Ukraine requires the reconstruction of
the social and market system of income formation.
