Abstract

Problem setting. There is a need to organize a more contemporary economic and legal mechanism for efficient activities of municipal bodies in the economic sector.
Recent research and publications analysis. Powers of local self-government bodies and mechanisms of organizational and economic relationships are analyzed by D. V. Zadykhailo, V. S. Milash, V. M. Pashkov, V. A. Ustymenko, R. A. Jabrailov. Nevertheless, an
issue of the adaptation of the local self-government legislation to terms and categories of the current economic laws and legislation has not been comprehensively examined.
Paper objective. The article objective is to consider the systematization of organizational and economic powers of the local self-government bodies in accordance with statements of the current legislation.
Paper main body. The Ukrainian legislation regulating the activities of self-government bodies in the economic sector needs the convergence with the economic legislation of Ukraine. The Law of Ukraine «On Self-governing in Ukraine» was confirmed on the
21. 05. 1997 and the Economic Code of Ukraine was confirmed later on the 16. 01. 2003. Thus, the legislation requires active lawmaking on bringing it into coherence with the Economic Code of Ukraine. This will provide the creation of a unified and efficient legal mechanism of local self-government body functioning within the system of economic relationships.
Conclusions of the research. In the Law of Ukraine «On Self-governing in Ukraine» a legislator does not make a respective and appropriate classification of local self-government body powers in accordance with their competencies. The Economic Code of Ukraine does not pay due attention to issues of the competencies and powers of the local selfgovernment bodies, which in turn requires the thorough examination according to directions of economic activities of local self-government bodies, the improvement, and the creation of a single active mechanism, which will provide the efficient regulation and management in the economic field.
