Abstract

 Well-known scientists, business consulting practitioners, and consultants having longstanding experience of successful activity in various sectors of business consulting were speakers of the discussion. Among them were M. P. Kucheriavenko, the First Vice-President of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Financial Law of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Doctor of Sciences (Legal Sciences), Ph. D. (Economic Sciences), Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Science and Technology Figure of Ukraine, I. A. Selivanova, Ph. D. (Legal Sciences), Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Law of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Consultant of the law firm ILF, Z. S. Sheikhova, consultant on intellectual property matters, patent attorney.
The following scientists and students participated in the discussion: members of the editorial board of the journal – Doctors of Sciences, Professors L. S. Shevchenko, О. А. Hrytsenko, Т. М. Nowadays, business consulting is playing the role of one of the most important channels enabling economic entities to acquire new knowledge and information being necessary for a profitable and competitive business. The latter needs the level of business consultancy that corresponds to contemporary requirements and challenges. The discussion on matters of the state and prospects of business consulting is of considerable importance. It should foster ascertaining the main tendencies of development, new directions, types, and methods of professional consultancy. The discussion is timely and useful for lecturers and master’s students of the Finance and Law Faculty of Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, who study the educational program “Business Consulting”.
The participators discussed a number of topics, particularly methodological frameworks of consulting activity, peculiarities of a market of consulting services, innovation and social functions of business consulting, directions of development of strategic, financial, legal, organizational, and startup consulting, consultancy in intellectual property matters, compliance, etc. The participants showed great interest in opinions and evaluations of practitioners, who disclosed the current state and tendencies of development of business consulting, its branches, a consultancy process, consultant-customer relations, their vision of the content of the professional activity of a consultant and requirements to its effectiveness, and recommendations to master’s students regarding acquiring professional skills at the highest level.
In general, the discussion drew significant attention from scientists, practitioners, lecturers, and students, conduced to deepening understanding theoretical and practical frameworks of consulting activity, prospects of business consulting at the present time, new requirements to a consultant job, and triggered further researches and enhancing a curriculum of the educational program “Business Consulting”.
