Abstract

 Problem setting. Legal consulting is a special distribution channal of legal knowledge and information in legal economy, that is an important direction for formation legal culture of society, ensuring the legal behavior of individuals and legal entities.
Recent research and publication analysis. A significant contribution to the theory of legal economy belongs to scientists of the Department of economic theory, Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, including: I. A. Vovk, K. H. Hubin, O. A. Hrytsenko, T. M. Kaminska, O. O. Nabatova, L. V. Nechyporuk, O. V. Ovsienko, O. O. Chuprina, L. S. Shevchenko.
Paper objective. The article’s purpose is to reveal the social role of legal consulting as a part of the legal economy and the forms of legal assistance.
Paper main body. The paid legal assistance to business entities and population in the provision of legal services is a function of legal consulting as the business activities of specialists in law, which purpose is to achieve a particular legal result and profit-making. General functions of the legal business are determined by its entrepreneurial nature, special functions are the main directions of realization of its appointment (social role) as a social institution. The system special features of the legal business has its own functions, which reveal its content as the professional activities of lawyers with providing of economic entities and population with the necessary legal knowledge and information, infrastructure function of minimization of transaction costs, imputed (assigned) functions as a social regulator.
Conclusion of the research. Legal consulting, as an entrepreneurial form of practical activities of lawyers for legal aid with the aim of achieving a legal result and profit, is a necessary element of a legal economy and regulator of economic behavior of business entities.
Short Abstract for an article
Аbstract. The author has indicated the sense of legal economy in the broad and narrow sense. The article characterizes the role of legal consulting as a form of paid legal assistance and public regulator of economic behavior of business entities. The author substantiates general, infrastructure and imputed functions of legal consulting.
